Protéus Celebrates Ten Years of Innovation with Proteins

Nimes - France : On June 26, 2008, Protéus will celebrate its 10th anniversary in the presence of prominent representatives of the scientific and political community. M. Yves Chauvin, laureate of the Nobel prize in chemistry and M. Alfredo Aguilar-Romanillos, Head of the Biotechnology Unit at the General Directorate for Research of the European Commission will be key speakers of a conference titled "Innovation and prospective".

Before this conference, representatives of leading industrial players of the health, cosmetics, agri-food, environment, renewable energies, chemistry and biodefense, will share their experience in a scientific meeting titled "10 years of innovation with proteins".

“For ten years, Protéus has been developing innovative products and bio-processes for industrial applications. This event will allow us to bring together leading experts and industrial partners of Proteus to share views on the future” said Gilles Ravot, President and CEO of Protéus. “On the basis of its excellence in technology, its highly skilled specialists’ team, its 10-year experience of industrial partnership and its recently added industrial capabilities, Protéus is ready to face new challenges.”

Protéus is a biotechnology company specialised in the discovery, engineering and development of new proteins and biotechnological processes that fulfil the requirements of specific industrial applications. Since 1998, the Company serves the global life science industry and has reinforced its offering for the health industry by creating two new dedicated businesses:

(i) PSI, the service division of Protéus, providing a unique range of solutions to help industry in the optimisation, development and production of their proteins.

(ii) PCAS Biosolution, a joint venture formed by Protéus with the fine chemical company PCAS, dedicated to the development and production of pharmaceutical molecules (APIs and intermediates) using new synthesis routes which combine chemistry and biocatalysis (chemo-biocatalysis).
